Tamara Torosyan

Hello, I’m Tamara Torosyan, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT#147644) and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC16941) supervised by Sarah Cable, MSW, LCSW. I’m passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and families as they navigate life’s challenges, transitions, and relationships. My approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and cultural humility. I strive to create a space where clients feel genuinely seen, safe, and empowered to heal and grow.

I earned my Master of Science in Counseling from California State University, Los Angeles, with dual concentrations in School-Based Family Counseling (PPS/CWA) and Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Philosophy from UCLA. I have specialized training in Family Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Seeking Safety.

Fluent in English, Armenian, and Russian, I bring a trauma-informed and multicultural lens to every session. My therapeutic style is integrative and flexible, blending evidence-based approaches such as CBT, solution-focused, and family systems interventions. Guided by empathy, I meet clients where they are, whether that means creating a structured, goal-oriented plan or offering an open, reflective space to explore emotions and experiences at their own pace.

Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, spending time in nature, and exploring different forms of art. Whether hiking, visiting museums, or trying new creative projects, I find that these experiences help me stay connected, grounded, and inspired. I believe that meaningful change begins with understanding and connection, and I bring compassion, curiosity, and authenticity into every session.
