Hi, I’m James Lee (AMFT #142544), an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist under the supervision of Dr. Barajas-Calkins (Psychologist #21732). I’m passionate about walking alongside individuals, couples and families as they navigate life’s challenges and grow into their fullest selves.
I earned my B.A. in Psychology from University of California of Riverside. I hold a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. Although my style tends to incorporate CBT, person-centered, and solution-focused modalities, I also focus on meeting the client’s needs as they see them.
My therapeutic work is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a deep belief in each person’s capacity for healing. I have experience working in diverse settings – from school-based programs to residential care facilities – supporting children, teens, and adults facing issues such as trauma, addiction, relationship struggles, identity questions, and emotional regulation. Whether you’re working through something specific or seeking greater self-understanding, I aim to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to process, explore, and heal.
Together, we’ll focus on building healthy coping strategies, developing insight, and creating practical goals tailored to your unique needs. Healing is a journey, and you don’t have to do it alone.
James provides services in English and Korean.
